Who is the Ambitious Mommy

Hello! Welcome to The Ambitious Mommy! My name is Julie and I’m so excited to have you here =)

I’ve been blogging for several years now, but I started this blog because of a strong desire I’ve always had to serve others.

I firmly believe in the saying by the late Zig Ziglar that, “You can have everything you want in life if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

My goal is that each reader finds, and continues to find, a lot of value here at the Ambitious Mommy!

As you read, please feel free to drop me a comment; I love hearing from my readers!

You’re on my About Me page so, I guess I’ll tell you a little more about me.

Who is the Ambitious Mommy

I’m a happy, ambitious mother of four amazing boys (yes, you read that right 4).

Life with my boys is amazing and nothing has brought me greater joy then being a mother! I’ll admit things get crazy hard sometimes, but I love them with all I am.

I graduated several years ago after 7 years of study and found a job I enjoyed not long after.

It wasn’t the highest paying job I could have taken, and with my kids, money was still extremely scarce. Despite that, I loved the work and the people I worked with.

I’ve always lived on a very strict budget and, because of it, I was able to get all my student loans paid off within three years of my graduation.

However, I didn’t really have a sense of purpose after I graduated. I’d spent so long in school focusing all my efforts on graduating, I didn’t really know where to put that focus and energy once I finished.

Yes, I had a job I enjoyed and went to work every day, but I had no long-term job goals. I was a mom of two kids who I loved but we had nothing we really worked towards as a family.

The best way to describe it is we were drifting through life. I woke up when it was time to work, worked all day, then came home. Every evening was spent watching T.V. or visiting friends and family. There was no sense of purpose in my life.

How I Turned Things Around

Two years after my graduation, I found myself sitting at my desk one day wondering, “Is this how the rest of my life is going to look? I wake up in the morning, drop the kids off at daycare, work for 8 hours and come back home for dinner and TV, then do it all over the next day?”

The thought was so depressing.

I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to have something to work towards. The last thing I wanted was to have my greatest accomplishment in my mind be that I had graduated despite all the odds against me. However, at that point, I did view my graduation as my greatest accomplishment because I’d never worked harder for anything else.

As more time went on, I grew more depressed and unsatisfied. I wanted a life of purpose.

Something had to change. There had to be more to life.

With that in mind, I decided things were going to change. I wanted to set goals that I worked on just as hard as I had to graduate.

I remembered a motivational seminar I’d gone to years before and one of the speakers I’d listened to was Zig Ziglar. His speech had really resonated with me and had stuck with me all those years, so I started reading some of his books and listening to his speeches on YouTube.

It was the beginning of a new life for me.

After listening to everything I could find of his, I started moving on to other popular speakers.

I started to see the world from a whole new perspective.

With Zig’s quote in mind, “You can have everything you want in life if you will just help enough other people get what they want first”, I started asking myself, “What can I do for others? How can I make a positive impact for so much more than just those in my immediate circle of influence?”

At that time, I’d already been blogging for several years, but my blog was purely focused on safely rebuilding your body after a baby.

Being a mother of four, I’d learned quite a bit about the best ways to rebuild your postpartum body and get back into shape after a baby.

I’d had diastasis recti, spd, postpartum depression, and several other conditions due to my pregnancies.

I loved that blogging gave me the opportunity to help other moms have an enjoyable pregnancy and be prepared for their post-baby body.

It allowed me to share the best resources I’d found to help mothers lose weight and get back into shape safely and quickly after having their baby.

However, my kids were getting older and I wanted to include other things in my blog that were a regular part of my life. I wanted to include parenting, raising happy kids, staying motivated, how we made things work with our budget, and so much more.

Because of that, I started The Ambitious Mommy.

My purpose and primary goal here is to provide uplifting content and value to every one of my readers. I want you to find what you’re looking for and leave my website happy and inspired to tackle any challenge you may be facing.

If I fail to do that, your feedback and input would mean the world to me. It makes me better so I can do that for the next visitor!

With that said, here are some of the things you’ll find on my blog:

Exercise After a Baby

Though I don’t claim to be an expert, I’ve gone through quite a bit during and after each of my pregnancies and I’ve learned so much. I’ve spent months researching the proper way to rebuild your body after a baby and, I hope that in reading my experiences and sharing my research, others can avoid some of the pain and complications I went through.

I want motherhood to be an enjoyable experience for you both before and after your baby is born.

Making Ends Meet

It’s hard to make ends meet. Add kids to the mix and it often feels impossible!

I spent seven years in college and had two kids while I was going.

It was honestly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and the amount of debt I built up was considerable. The budget we were on was one of the strictest you could imagine.

In going through that, I learned how to manage my money to the point where, today, I have no debt other than our mortgage. I don’t have credit card debt (I don’t even own a credit card), I have no car loans, no student loans. We live off of what we earn and no more.

I continue to live on a very strict budget and I’ve found all kinds of ways to make ends meet that I would love to share with you.

Raising Happy Kids:

With four kids, I’ve had unique learning opportunities with each of my kids that I wouldn’t have gotten if I had one or two.

I’ve had to find a way, and continue to find ways, to make sure each of my boys have what they need physically and emotionally.

I want my kids to grow up with the qualities and principles that will allow them to be successful.

I want them to achieve the goals they set their minds to. It all starts when they’re young.

Working Online

Working online is what has saved me from going into debt. I wasn’t earning enough from my full-time job to support my family so I started looking for online jobs to earn some extra income.

I found the opportunities are endless!

Whatever you enjoy doing, there’s an online job for you.

Whether you’re just looking for something to supplement your existing income or you’re looking for something that will actually allow you to stay at home with your kids, I’ll help you find a great online opportunity.

Motivation/Reaching Your Goals

To do well in any area of life, you must have the goals and motivation to do so.

I can’t stress enough the importance of setting GOALS. Dreams without goals are just dreams.

I’ve done quite a bit of study into what makes people successful. Why do some people achieve their goals while others never seem to get going? What steps should you take to achieve the results you’re looking for in your life?

I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned that has literally turned my life around and allowed me to reach my own goals. I want to help you live a life of purpose that makes you feel fulfilled!

Thank you again for being here!

I appreciate your time so much and want to encourage you to never give up. Whatever you’re facing, keep moving forward and working towards your goals!

Life is worthwhile if you keep trying!

Those who are successful in any area of life usually fail more times then the average person will even try.

I hope to see you here again and wish you the very best!

-Julie
